Fed up with all this new music? Do you miss the good old days? “Oldies but Goodies” is the show for you. I, James Pugh, play my all time favourite classic songs, all pre-2000.

Bands such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Smiths and even Motown. As well as legends, I’ll be playing some retro, 80’s guilty pleasures. Between songs I’ll be talking about music and concert news, and just about what ever comes into my head! Tune in!

The Indie Playlist

The show aims to introduce you, the students, to new indie bands or tracks that us, the presenters, think are going to make it big.

Every week we will have a feature, called “album of the week”, where we will play a track from either a new album or an album which has recently became more popular. You will also have the chance to text into the show (60300 – just start your message with Frequency) with your song requests and have the chance to hear the latest music news from Dan.

Man Banter

Man Banter is the brand new show from Dominic Ellis, Andy Halls, James Butlin and Peter Adams. Bringing the thought processes of these four lads to the masses could be something of a treat. Immature nonsense or philosophical wisdom? You be the judge.

The show is split into 5 main segments, with a few classic, and maybe not so classic tunes thrown into the mix.

Starting with ‘The Week In Weird News’, the lads pick some funny stories from the previous week, then moving forward to ‘Grumpy Man Banter’, pet hates and peeves taken and ranted about, this could get one or all of the boys fired up, shame this is an afternoon show.

Moving on, ‘What Would You Do?’ takes a situation and the lads discuss how they would react in the same situation, those morals are going to be put to the test week in, week out.

‘Butlin’s Review’ takes Ents Editor James Butlin and puts him in the driving seat for the films to go and see every week.

To finish off, ‘Get Your Tunes Out…No Wait, Put That One Away…’ takes the musical tastes of the lads right to the lowest of the low, what is that song you secretly like, but don’t want your mates to know about?

They’ve got great features including Wiki-fact of the week, The Gossip Column and of course all the best music thrown in too. They’ll also take you through all the talking points of that footballing week too. So keep it on frequency 3 till 5 every Saturday and make sure that you know the score.

We will be playing hip-hop and anything else we’re a fan of. There will be a mix of current tunes, commercial and underground, and tunes from the past . There will also be various features sandwiched in between the music, including a bit of film and sport. We would also love to get a bit of feedback from our listener(s) so will be encouraging you to text in and facebook us. So if you just want a chilled out hour before the weekend begins, maybe with a few laughs thrown in, simply tune in to Frequency Radio and we will be more than happy to fill that gap.
